Dianne Reeves has been a great ambassador of vocal jazz for over 40 years. (I own many of her other recorded offerings!)This recording was from the Marciac Jazz Festival (France) in 2016. It was also her 59th birthday. Certainly, there was a lot of interaction with an enthusiastic audience. For me, the highlight of this album was her interpretation of Stevie Nicks' "Dreams", but the other songs which were jazz instrumental pieces with new lyrics by Ms. Reeves or her own ballads were a bit too "forced" for me. The killer for me was the chanting of "When They go Low, We go High!" (from Michelle Obama) on "Cold". While the sentiment is admirable - unless it's a protest recording - I prefer an "apolitical" listen. This is one of these recordings that could use 1/2 a Star - like 3-1/2 Stars.
